Palakkad, Oct 8 (PTI) Keralam Revenue Minister A P Anilkumar on Thursday said the Revenue department has exceeded the targets set under the government’s 100-day action plan, including distributing more than 10,000 land title deeds against the initial target of 5,000.

The 100-day action plan was launched after the UDF government came to power in May this year.

Anilkumar said the department has also disposed of more than 50,000 land category conversion applications against the target of around 25,000 during the 100-day period.

Similarly, more than 70,000 complaints related to the digital survey have been resolved against the target of around 50,000, he said.

“The 100-day action plan concludes in the coming days. Before its completion, the Revenue Department has achieved more than double the target in every promise made,” Anilkumar said.

He said efforts are continuing to resolve land-related issues in other areas, including Idukki.

Regarding reports of delays in the payment of rent to families affected by the 2024 Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslides in Wayanad district, Anilkumar said the government has already decided to provide rent to eligible families living in rented accommodation until they are allotted houses in the township.

“I am not aware of those specific details. I will specifically look into the particular issue you are mentioning,” he said.

A total of 177 families have already been relocated, while the second phase involving the remaining families will be completed by October, after which they will be shifted to the township, the minister said.

“Until then, if there are families eligible to receive rent, the government has already decided to pay them. I am not sure what transpired in between, but we will look into it specifically. There won’t be any lapse in this regard,” Anilkumar said. PTI TBA TBA ROH

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
