Pune, Aug 24 (PTI) Veteran Marathi author, professor and renowned grammarian Yasmin Shaikh passed away due to age-related ailments in Pune on Monday, family sources said.
She was 101.
Shaikh breathed her last at her house, they said.
Born Jerusha Reuben into a Jewish family on June 21, 1925, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SP College, Pune, before embarking on a distinguished academic career.
She served as a Marathi professor at Milind College in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and SIES College in Sion, Mumbai, where she played a significant role in shaping generations of students and contributing to Marathi language education.
