Jaipur, Oct 1 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday asked the BJP workers to strengthen every booth and intensify contact with voters ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections.

Interacting with party workers at Fatehpur in Sikar district, Sharma credited the BJP’s performance in the recent urban local body elections to the efforts of its workers, organisational strength and continuous contact with people.

“Our next target is the panchayat elections. We have to take the message of development, good governance and public welfare to every village and work for a big victory,” he said.

Sharma asked BJP workers to reach out to every family in villages and make government welfare schemes concerning farmers, women, youth, the poor and rural development accessible to eligible beneficiaries.

“Every booth should be strong; there should be contact in every village and dialogue with every family. This should be our priority,” he said.

He also asked the party workers to bring new voters, youth, women and first-time political workers into the organisation.

The chief minister claimed that the BJP had formed boards in 204 urban local bodies in the state following the recent civic polls, including nine in Churu, eight in Jhunjhunu and five in Sikar.

He said the results showed public support for the work of the BJP governments at the Centre and in Rajasthan.

Sharma said the BJP organisation should stay connected with people even after elections, and workers should build confidence among voters that they would continue to stand with them.

He said a strong organisation at the panchayat level would further strengthen the party’s presence in rural Rajasthan. PTI SDA RUK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
