Jaipur, May 4 (PTI) The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a PWD engineer in Alwar for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000, officials said.
The accused, identified as Krishna Avatar Gupta, was posted as executive engineer (TA) in the office of the superintending engineer, they said.
According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the complainant had alleged that a letter of intent (LoI) was issued for setting up an HPCL petrol pump at Barkheda village on Laxmangarh Road (State Highway 44). The accused had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 for issuing a no-objection certificate (NOC) required for the project.
During the verification conducted on May 1, the accused was allegedly found to have received Rs 10,000 and demanded the remaining amount, officials said. Acting on the complaint, an ACB team laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting Rs 25,000 from the complainant on Monday.
