Shimla, Jul 25 (PTI) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government on Saturday over the NEET paper leak, stating that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has become the voice of the students’ fight for justice.
While addressing journalists after leading a candlelight march regarding the NEET exam paper leak — which included Congress leaders, party workers, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the general public — he said that ensuring transparency and fairness in matters concerning the youth’s future was of utmost importance.
They raised slogans against the central government, demanding justice for the students during the march, which started from the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex and concluded near the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Ridge.
The Cockroach Janta Party on Saturday called off its 36-day agitation in New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned and the government accepted its other demands.
Pradhan announced his resignation in a statement, saying the developments of the past 10 days had “saddened” him deeply and that the issue was “not a matter of personal prestige”.
