New Delhi/Chandigarh, Jul 27 (PTI) Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in Delhi and said they had a detailed discussion regarding various issues concerning development and law and order in the state.
Dhillon said PM Modi heard him patiently during a 35-minute one-on-one meeting.
“We discussed all issues like law and order, the drug menace, gangsterism in the state,” the BJP leader told PTI over phone.
“The prime minister told me he will visit Punjab whenever he is called,” said Dhillon, who assumed charge in June as the president of the BJP unit in the poll-bound state.
Later in a post on X, Dhillon said he had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Modi.
“On this occasion, we held a detailed and meaningful discussion on the overall development of Punjab, the welfare of the people of the state, the well-being of farmers and labourers, who are considered the backbone of Punjab, the expansion of industries, attracting fresh investments to restore Punjab as a major industrial hub, creating new opportunities for the youth, and ensuring a bright future for the state,” said Dhillon.
“The Prime Minister’s visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to Punjab are truly inspiring and will provide a new direction to the state’s progress,” said the Punjab BJP chief.
The BJP remains firmly committed to working with complete dedication and sincerity for the development of Punjab and the service of its people, said Dhillon.
During his Jalandhar visit on July 17, Modi had inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of rail and road infrastructure projects, including 75 redeveloped railway stations, worth Rs 5,470 crore.
