Amritsar, Sep 18 (PTI) Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, on Friday evening paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple).
This was Justice Mishra’s first visit to Darbar Sahib after being sworn in as the high court’s chief justice on September 7.
He paid his respects at the sacred shrine, expressed gratitude to Waheguru and prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of humanity, an official statement issued by the district administration said. Representatives of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) welcomed the chief justice and apprised him of the historical, religious and spiritual significance of Darbar Sahib, and briefed him about the various services and arrangements being carried out at the holy shrine.
Justice Mishra also took keen interest in the rich history, heritage and spiritual traditions associated with Darbar Sahib.
He was apprised of the arrangements made for the convenience of devotees and the facilities being provided to pilgrims visiting the sacred complex.
According to the statement, Justice Mishra said Darbar Sahib is a revered shrine that conveys the universal message of peace, service, equality and welfare of all, inspiring humanity towards compassion, harmony and the well-being of all.
On the occasion, District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Supreet Kaur, Civil Judge Gagandeep Singh Ghuman, Additional Commissioner Jai Inder Singh, besides other officials, were also present. PTI JMS SUN KSI KSI
