New Delhi, Sep 21 (PTI) A 23-year-old man who had appeared for the ongoing Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PEMT) at the Delhi Police Academy in Wazirabad died after he collapsed during a race on Monday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Saurabh Kumar, a resident of Anupshahr in Uttar Pradesh, they said.
According to police, information was received at Sonia Vihar police station at 11:11 am from Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital that a man had been brought to its emergency department by a PCR van from DPA, Wazirabad.
Kumar had been appearing for the ongoing PEMT at the academy when he suddenly collapsed on the track during the race, police said.
He was provided initial medical assistance and shifted to JPC Hospital by PCR staff, where doctors declared him dead, they said.
The body has been sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
