Mumbai, Aug 21 (PTI) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday alleged that attempts were being made to allot open plots in the city to organisations linked to the BJP.

A plot in Mulund East was reserved for a sports complex but it is now being allotted for a petrol pump, he claimed.

In the last four years, 17 to 18 open plots have been “stolen”, the former minister alleged.

He further claimed that 22 bus depots of civic transport and electricity undertaking BEST, two plots in Mulund, three plots in Andheri-Juhu and a football ground was being given to BJP-linked organisations.

His party would stage a protest over the issue in Bandra West, Thackeray said. PTI PR KRK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
