Bhubaneswar, Jul 21 (PTI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday said the state ranking among India’s top five in NITI Aayog’s Investment Friendliness Index was not the destination, but another milestone in its development journey..
With an overall score of 52.4, Odisha is placed next to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Goa in the “top performers” category in the index — India’s first comprehensive, evidence-based framework for evaluating the investment ecosystem of all states and Union territories.
The index assesses performance across eight critical pillars — infrastructure, business climate, resources, government policy, regulatory ease, institutional environment, financial health and environmental resilience — to benchmark states and promote competitive and cooperative federalism.
“This achievement is not our destination but another milestone in Odisha’s development journey. Together, we will continue to build a stronger economy, create quality employment for our youth, attract greater investments and realise the vision of Samruddha Odisha by 2036, contributing meaningfully to the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.” Majhi said in a statement..
He congratulated the people of Odisha, all departments, industry partners, entrepreneurs, investors and public servants following the state’s recognition.
The achievement reflects the state’s unwavering commitment to transparent governance, policy-driven reforms, investor-friendly administration and sustainable industrial development, the chief minister said.
He said the state government has also prioritised the development of modern industrial infrastructure through integrated industrial parks, logistics corridors, improved connectivity, reliable power supply and sector-specific industrial ecosystems. PTI AAM AAM NSD
