To strengthen the capacities of senior civil servants of Sri Lanka in governance and administrative practices, the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) held its third capacity-building programme, a PIB press release stated.
The two-week programme, which began on May 13, is being attended by 41 senior civil servants from the government. The programme aims to provide them with an overview of different governance strategies and the role of technology in improving societal development. The speakers will discuss key areas such as the overview of all India services, the constitutional foundation of policy making, and decentralization in India.
The programme will also feature field visits to prestigious institutions and a visit to the Indira Gandhi Forest National Academy (IGFNA) in Dehradun. The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) was established in 2013 to promote good governance and sustainable development in India. It is an autonomous body under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances of the Government of India. The NCGG has partnered with various national and international organisations to provide capacity-building training to civil servants of 17 countries.
The government is committed to providing opportunities for the civil servants to enhance their knowledge and skills in governance and administrative practices. This will help in strengthening the democratic and inclusive society by promoting good governance practices.
