New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) BJP president Nitin Nabin is set to embark on a two-day visit to Uttarakhand on Wednesday to review and strengthen the party’s preparations for the upcoming assembly polls in the state due early next year.
During his visit, Nabin will chair various “high-level meetings” aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational structure. He will also engage directly with the “energetic youth” of the state and participate in special programmes organised by ex-servicemen and the Punjabi community, the party said in a statement.
He will also hold meetings with the state BJP office-bearers and the party’s state core committee, it said.
“BJP national president Nitin Nabin will undertake an important two-day visit to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand from September 9,” the party said, describing his visit as “highly significant and crucial” in view of the party’s “strategic preparations” for the upcoming assembly polls in the state.
Sharing details, the BJP said Nabin will address the party’s extended state working committee meeting in Rudrapur on the first day of his visit to Uttarakhand on Wednesday.
“The meeting is important as it will deliberate in detail on organisational priorities, the dissemination of public welfare policies and strengthening party activities across the state up to the booth level,” the party said.
Later, the BJP chief will hold a review meeting with the state office-bearers of the party in Rudrapur the same day and also chair a high-level meeting of the state core committee.
“During these meetings, he will undertake an in-depth review of the forthcoming electoral strategy, organisational matters and the contemporary political scenario with the senior state leadership and provide necessary guidance,” the party said.
On Thursday, Nabin will start his day with a visit to the renowned Mahalaxmi Mandir in Haldwani in the morning.
“He will offer prayers and perform the prescribed rituals at the temple to seek the blessings of Maa Lakshmi, while praying for the happiness, prosperity and peace of Uttarakhand as well as the entire nation,” the BJP said.
The BJP chief will later hold an interaction with the “talented youth” of Uttarakhand through a ‘Yuva Samvad’ programme in Rudrapur and share the party’s vision on “greater participation of youth in nation-building and their bright future”, the party said.
Nabin will also visit the Shaheed Smarak in Haldwani and pay floral tributes to the brave sons of Bharat, the BJP said.
“Immediately thereafter, he will participate in the ‘Ex-Servicemen Sammelan’ and express his gratitude for the unparalleled valour, sacrifice and dedicated service to the nation of the brave ex-servicemen who devoted themselves to defending the country,” the party said.
Later, he will also address a ‘Punjabi Gaurav Sammelan’ in Rudrapur, where the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Punjabi community will be celebrated, while acknowledging the community’s “distinctive contribution to the social, economic and cultural development of Uttarakhand”, the BJP said.
“The BJP national president Nitin Nabin’s two-day visit will not only infuse renewed energy and resolve among party karyakartas ahead of the upcoming assembly elections but also deepen the party’s strong, continuous and vibrant connect with the people of Uttarakhand,” the party added.
