Myanmar nationals held with hydroponic weed worth Rs 2.03 cr at Thiruvananthapuram airport

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 9 (PTI) Two Myanmar nationals were caught by Customs with 5.8 kg of hydroponic weed worth Rs 2.03 crore at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, officials said on Wednesday.

The passengers were identified as Yu Yu Khaing, 32, and Min Zaw Hein, 36, Customs sources said.

The duo arrived at the airport on a flight from Singapore at 10.09 pm on September 8.

During inspection, Customs officials found the contraband concealed in false-bottom compartments of two checked-in bags belonging to the passengers.

The seized hydroponic weed had a net weight of 5.8 kg and was valued at Rs 2.03 crore, officials said.
