Mumbai, Oct 8 (PTI) The fourth World Hindu Congress will be held in Mumbai from December 18 to 20, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat scheduled to deliver the inaugural address, the organisers said on Thursday.
The theme of World Hindu Congress 2026 is “Samanam Vratam Saha Chittam – Shared Commitment, Collective Resolve”, they said, adding the event seeks to provide a global platform for Hindu leaders and institutions to connect, deliberate and collaborate.
The three-day global gathering is expected to bring together more than 4,000 delegates from over 60 countries, including Hindu leaders, thinkers, professionals and representatives of various institutions. Bhagwat will address the inaugural session of the event, which will feature more than 45 sessions and over 150 speakers, the organisers said in a release.
The event, to be held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, will feature four special plenary sessions focusing on “dharma, samaj, vishwakarma and bhasha”, they informed.
The ‘dharma’ plenary will bring together spiritual leaders from different religious traditions, communities, spiritual institutions and philosophical schools to discuss the role of dharma in contemporary society.
The samaj plenary will focus on social cohesion, community development and challenges before Hindu society, while the bhasha session will highlight the linguistic diversity of Hindu society and the role of various languages in preserving civilisational knowledge, literature, traditions and cultural identity.
The vishwakarma plenary will focus on skills, skilled workforce, entrepreneurship and innovation, besides the contribution of artisans, craftsmen and professionals to economic and social development.
The event will also see the launch of the inaugural World Hindu Expo, aimed at promoting trade and commerce and fostering economic growth, according to the organisers.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav are among those whose participation has been confirmed, they added. PTI ND GK
