Shimla, Sep 8 (PTI) The Shimla Met office on Tuesday predicted a wet spell in Himachal Pradesh till September 14 as light to moderate rains continued to lash parts of the state.
In the past 24 hours since Monday evening, Jatton Barrage in Sirmaur district received 56.2 mm of rain followed by Pachhad 48.2 mm, Murari Devi 46 mm, Dhaulakuan 45.5 mm, Kotkhai 19.3 mm, Dharamshala 14.1 mm, Shimla 3.8 mm, Kalpa 2.8 mm, Kangra 2.6 mm, Sarahan 2.3 mm and Manali 2 mm.
A total of 65 roads are closed in Himachal Pradesh following the rainfall. The maximum number of roads are blocked in Mandi district (29), followed by Kullu (11), Kangra (10), Sirmaur (7), Shimla and Una (3 each), and Solan and Lahaul-Spiti (1 each), according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
So far, from September 1 to 8, Himachal Pradesh has received 44.8 mm of rain against a normal rainfall of 44.1 mm, an excess of two per cent. PTI BPL MNK MNK
