Mumbai, Jul 21 (PTI) A 30-year-old man has been arrested here for sending obscene photographs and messages to girls and women on WhatsApp, police said on Thursday.

The accused was identified as Ravi Barnabas Dandu, resident of Dharavi in central Mumbai, an official said.

A case of sexual harassment and other relevant offences under the Indian Penal Code was registered against him at Andheri police station.

According to the complaint, a girl received a call from an unidentified person on February 17. The caller introduced himself as a teacher who wanted to create a WhatsApp group for a college.

He allegedly hacked the girl’s WhatsApp account by persuading her to share with him an OTP.

Three days later, the girl started getting obscene photos and messages on her WhatsApp, following which her parents filed a complaint. PTI DC KRK KRK
