New Delhi, Sep 19 (PTI) A 39-year-old man was found dead in a hotel room in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur area on Saturday, with police suspecting no foul play.
The deceased was identified as Lovekesh Tanwar, a resident of Dakshinpuri Extension in Ambedkar Nagar, police said.
A PCR call regarding a dead body was received around 10.54 am, following which a police team reached a hotel near Jaitpur Mor.
Tanwar was found dead on the bed in a room, they said.
The crime team inspected the spot and shifted the body to AIIMS for preservation and further legal proceedings, police said.
During an inquiry, police learnt that Tanwar was married and had a daughter and worked in the accounts section of a private company.
Police, citing family members, said Tanwar was a habitual alcoholic and was suffering from a liver-related ailment. He would occasionally leave home after quarrelling with family members and return on his own.
On September 16, he again left home after a quarrel. The family initially expected him to return as he had done on previous occasions. However, when he did not return for around three days, the family approached the Ambedkar Nagar police station on Saturday to report him missing.
His wife told police that their relations had remained strained due to his alcohol consumption.
Police said that no foul play has come to their notice so far and the circumstances surrounding his death are being examined. PTI SSJ KSI KSI
