Kurukshetra, Sep 4 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday urged people to visit the Mahabharat Anubhav Kendra at Jyotisar here to see the epic come alive before their eyes through modern technology.
The museum and experience centre, commissioned by the Haryana Tourism Corporation, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year.
“Dedicated to the rich heritage of the Mahabharat and the Bhagavad Gita, this centre is establishing its identity as one of the prominent cultural and tourism destinations of Haryana, as well as the country,” Saini told reporters at the Kendra in Jyotisar.
Earlier, he paid obeisance at Jyotisar Tirth and performed rituals and prayers, wishing for peace, happiness and prosperity in the state, according to a statement released here.
On the occasion of Janmashtami, Saini interacted with the children dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha.
The chief minister inspected the Kendra during his visit and issued necessary directions to Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, the statement said.
Thereafter, he attended the discourse by noted Gita scholar Gyananand Maharaj at the Gita Gyan Sansthanam premises.
Saini said that the objective of the Mahabharat Anubhav Kendra is to bring the story and the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to people by combining traditional storytelling with modern technology.
He said the centre is spread over approximately 17 acres and has more than one lakh square feet of indoor space.
Responding to questions from reporters on paddy procurement, Saini said higher moisture content in paddy creates problems for commission agents and procurement agencies. Farmers should bring paddy within the prescribed moisture parameters, he said.
He assured that farmers would not be allowed to face any kind of difficulty during the crop procurement season. PTI SUN PRK
