Jammu, Oct 1 (PTI) Lieutenant General Mohit Seth took over as the new General Officer Commanding of the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps from Lieutenant General P K Mishra on Thursday, officials said.

In an X post, the White Knight Corps said Lt Gen Seth has taken over command of the 16 Corps.

“On assuming command, the new Corps Commander exhorted all ranks to uphold the highest standards of operational readiness, professional excellence and team spirit, while continuing to foster peace, security and stability in the region,” it read.

Before his appointment, Lt Gen Seth served as Commandant of the Indian Military Training Team in Bhutan. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and National Defence College, he was commissioned into the 3 Madras Regiment in 1991, and had commanded the Army’s Kilo Force in Jammu and Kashmir.

The White Knight Corps was raised on June 1, 1972, with Lt Gen J F R Jacob as its first GOC.

In a similar development, Lt Gen Akhilesh Kumar, Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal, took over as Commander of Strike One Corps from Lt Gen V Hariharan, Northern Command said on X.

On assuming command, Lt Gen Kumar paid homage to the fallen soldiers. He exhorted all ranks to remain focused on operational preparedness and continue serving the nation with zeal and enthusiasm. PTI AB AB RUK
