Jaipur, Apr 27 (PTI) BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Monday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge victorious in the West Bengal Assembly elections.
“BJP’s lotus is set to bloom in West Bengal,” Nabin said at a programme in Rajasthan’s Tonk after inaugurating the district party office.
Advising party workers to work with diligence and determination, Nabin stated that the party must avoid taking ‘shortcuts’ in politics. He also assured that the BJP would fulfil its commitment regarding the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Reservation Bill) when the appropriate time arrives.
Nabin noted that even though the BJP governance has been expanding, the party still has further ground to cover.
“Given the immense hard work and toil put in by BJP workers in West Bengal, and the manner in which the people of West Bengal have taken to the streets to protest against the governance… I assure you that on May 4 (the day of vote counting), the BJP’s lotus will bloom in West Bengal as well, and the saffron flag will fly high,” he said.
He claimed that the people of West Bengal had become fed up with the prevailing government. “The government that came to power under the slogan of ‘Maa, Maati, aur Manush’ (mother, soil, and people) has, in reality, betrayed the very ‘Maa, Maati, aur Manush’ it pledged to serve,” Nabin said.
“However, thanks to the struggles and sacrifices of BJP workers, the moment has finally arrived; rest assured that once the voting concludes, the BJP will form the government there with a resounding majority,” he added.
The BJP chief also accused the opposition of attempting to deprive women of their rightful entitlements by opposing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. “While we are striving to enhance women’s representation and secure their rights, our colleagues in Congress have actively worked to obstruct this process,” he said.
Nabin asserted that people should ask Congress leaders and MPs why they chose to snatch away the rights of mothers and sisters. “They must be held accountable and provide an answer,” Nabin said.
“If they have snatched away the rights of our mothers and sisters, then we are ready to fight for them. Whenever our leader Narendra Modi makes a pledge, our leaders and workers fulfil it. It is the BJP’s leadership that will secure those rights for women, and we will undoubtedly implement the ‘Nari Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Empowerment Act) when the time is right,” he said.
Calling upon party workers to demonstrate diligence and hard work, Naveen said that politics is not a ‘100-metre dash’ where speed is the sole test; rather, politics is a ‘long-distance race’ where endurance (stamina) is put to the test.
“Therefore, we must resolve to work tirelessly and with unwavering dedication to elevate our party to new heights and milestones every single day,” he said.
“We must strive to make the BJP not merely the largest political party in the world, but also the most popular party. Today, our leader Narendra Modi is not only providing leadership to our nation but is also guiding the entire world in a new direction,” he said.
Pointing towards the newly inaugurated office building, he said that the party office is a place of ideology promotion.
Nabin inaugurated the BJP District Office in Tonk. He also virtually inaugurated the district offices in Bundi, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Churu, Pali, and Barmer, and virtually laid the foundation stone for the party’s district office in Jalore.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma congratulated party workers on the new offices. He highlighted the achievement of the state BJP government.
