New Delhi, Sep 21 (PTI) A specialised brain and spine surgery centre coming up in Faridabad (Haryana) will be equipped with Loop-X, a mobile imaging system that produces two-dimensional and three-dimensional X-ray-type images during surgery, according to an official statement.
The centre is being set up by Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, and German medical technology company Brainlab, which have signed an MoU for the facility. The statement claimed it would be the first specialised centre of its kind in north India.
The Loop-X system can generate cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans during surgery, allowing doctors to check implant positioning or assess the outcome of a procedure without moving the patient for imaging, the statement said.
According to the statement, the centre will combine the hospital’s neurology and spine surgery services with Brainlab’s imaging and surgical navigation technologies, and will also be used for training surgeons and healthcare professionals.
