New Delhi: An Interpol Red Corner Notice, details of constantly changing addresses within California, and a passport number: This is the information provided by the Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Ganster Task Force (AGTF) that helped the US’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detain Harry Boxer, Lawrence Bishnoi’s top aide, Saturday. Indian authorities are in contact with their US counterparts to extradite Boxer, sources said.

Boxer had several lookout circulars against him, issued by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Haryana Police, Rajasthan Police, Madhya Pradesh Police, Maharashtra Police and UP Police, for his alleged involvement in high-profile extortion and shooting cases. Boxer, who once aspired to be a policeman or a soldier, fled India in 2023, and was also briefly detained in January 2026.

Who is Harry Boxer?

Harichand Jat alias Harry Boxer is a native of Chatarpura, Rajasthan. He is the son of Girdhari Lal Jat, a farmer by profession. Boxer graduated from a college in Bansur and prepared for recruitment examinations for the police, Army and Staff Selection Commission (SSC), a senior Delhi Police officer said. Later, he began pursuing boxing before allegedly transitioning to organised crime. “He was a professional boxer and used to work as a boxing coach in Jaipur. Prior to that, he had taken several government service exams but not cleared them,” said the officer.

“As his involvement in organised crime increased, his parents, who come from humble backgrounds, began to distance themselves and finally disowned him,” the officer added.

According to sources, Boxer has been on the run since 2022 and fled abroad in 2023. “Boxer fled India using passport no X6875815,” said a senior Rajasthan police officer. “Hari Boxer initially fled to Dubai, moved to the Dominican Republic, and then entered the US via the ‘Donkey Route’ across the Mexico border, settling in California,” the officer said.

Boxer’s rise as one of Bishnoi’s top aides happened following a power vacuum in the gang. “With Anmol’s (Bishnoi’s brother) arrest, and Goldy Brar’s departure from the gang, there was a leadership issue. That is when Boxer stepped up. His name then began propping up in high-profile extortion calls, and shooting cases across the country,” the officer said.

Cases against Harry Boxer

Boxer first came into the limelight in August 2025 when his name came up in connection with a firing incident outside comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada. An audio clip that surfaced in the aftermath purportedly had Boxer claiming responsibility for the incident. Boxer soon issued threats to producers, directors and actors against working with Salman Khan, with whom the Bishnoi gang has had a purported grudge over the 1998 blackbuck case.

He also allegedly issued threats to Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and director Rohit Shetty. “Ranveer’s manager received several voice notes at the time where Boxer demanded Rs 20 crore. Prior to that, assailants had already fired shots outside Shetty’s houses in Mumbai,” the Rajasthan Police officer said. Following this, the Mumbai Police issued a lookout circular against him.

Boxer has at least 22 cases against him in Rajasthan. “These cases involve attempted murder, extortion, Arms Act violations, organised crime, theft, and assault,” said the officer. “He has played a central role in delivering weapons to gang members and executing criminal tasks. The gang extorts money from wealthy businessmen by threatening them via WhatsApp and Signal VoIP (VPN) calls, resorting to firing at individuals or their families if demands are not met,” he added.

In Delhi, Boxer faces close to 10 cases. In August 2025, Boxer allegedly demanded Rs 5 crore from a Delhi-based businessman, after which two of his associates were arrested. In June 2026, his name came up after armed assailants opened fire outside Bollywood singer Guru Randhawa’s gym in Paschim Vihar. His associates also allegedly shot gym trainer Kapil Redhu outside his gym in Hansi, Haryana, this June.
