Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 3 (PTI) KITTS, operating under the State Department of Tourism, has received the UN Tourism TedQual certification.

This international academic accreditation has been awarded to KITTS’ MBA in Travel and Tourism programme, according to an official statement here on Saturday.

The TedQual certification is a framework established by the UN Tourism to ensure quality standards in tourism education, training, and research, it said.

Tourism Minister P C Vishnunadh said that this recognition reflects the importance Keralam accords to travel and tourism education and underscores the high quality of the programme offered by Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS).

It is all the more significant that this recognition came when the Tourism Department is working on a project to elevate KITTS into a centre of excellence, he said.

Vishnunadh, who is also KITTS chairman, presented the certification to KIITS vice chairman and Tourism Secretary K Biju during the Kerala Travel Mart 2026 held in Kochi recently.

Tourism Director Anjana M, Tourism Additional Director (General) Sumit Kumar Thakur, KITTS Director and Principal B Rajendran, KITTS Administrative Officer Pradeep Manohar and KITTS Associate Professor Harikrishnan P K were present on the occasion. PTI LGK KH

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
