Kochi, Oct 30 (PTI) Kerala Police will launch a state-wide public awareness campaign on cyber safety on October 31, aiming to make the state fully cyber-resilient by 2027.

A statement by the Kerala Police on Friday said that the campaign, titled CLICK (Community-Led Initiative for Cyber-Resilient Keralam), is being implemented under the leadership of the Home Department to help prevent cybercrimes and promote awareness of digital security. Veteran actor Mammootty will also be part of the campaign.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the initiative at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

Higher Education Minister Roji M John, Zoho Corporation founder Sridhar Vembu, State Police Chief Ravada Azad Chandrasekhar and ADGP (Law and Order) P Vijayan will attend the event, the statement said.

The launch will also feature announcements on Cyber Safe Villages, Cyber Resilient Centres, Cyber Captains and Cyber First Responders, officials said.

The initiative aims to mobilise the public against digital crimes and online fraud and promote cyber safety as a collective social responsibility.

Cyber resilience refers to the ability of individuals and communities to identify and prevent cyberattacks and recover quickly when such incidents occur, officials said.

CLICK seeks to bring together educational institutions, industries, social organisations, youth and the general public to turn cyber safety into a people’s movement, while enabling citizens to actively participate in the fight against cybercrime alongside the police, the statement said.

With the message “Awareness through knowledge, prevention through awareness”, the campaign aims to build a safe and responsible society capable of effectively responding to cyber threats, it said

The initiative also seeks to help people respond to cybercrime without withdrawing out of fear or embarrassment, and equip them to recover from financial losses and the fear of social stigma, the statement added. PTI TBA TBA SA
