Mangaluru (Karnataka), Aug 3 (PTI) The body of a 48-year-old man who was swept away by a river near Rayi in Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district was recovered from the Sangabettu area on Monday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Jeevan Pinto, they said.

He was swept away in a river near Rayi in Bantwal taluk on late Saturday, officials said.

Amid the inclement weather in the district, personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire and Emergency Services and local residents carried out an intensive search operation for the past two days.
