Ranchi, Jun 21 (PTI) Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Sunday called upon people to embrace yoga to build a healthy and empowered society.
He extended wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition of knowledge, which forms the foundation of a healthy body, a peaceful mind, and a balanced life. Let us resolve to embrace yoga and build a healthy, aware, and empowered society,” Gangwar posted on social media.
Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, participated in a yoga event organised by the Ministry of AYUSH at Ranchi College.
“On the occasion of 12th International Day of Yoga, people from nearly 192 countries around the world are practising yoga. Yoga brings discipline to the body and mind, and also helps us break free from excessive screen time on digital devices. Make it a part of your daily routine,” Seth said.
At the programme, state Health Minister Irfan Ansari said, “We should not practise yoga only on International Yoga Day but make it a part of our daily life. Take time out for yourself and do yoga. Yoga is part of our ancient civilisation. We will promote it in Jharkhand.” International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21. This year’s theme is ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. PTI RPS RPS ACD
