Ranchi, Jul 21 (PTI) Jharkhand Congress in-charge K Raju on Tuesday announced the formation of a ministers’ forum within the party to ensure a unified voice on public issues and amplify party narratives.
The announcement was made after he held a meeting with four Congress ministers in the JMM-led alliance government.
“It is not appropriate for one minister to say something on a public issue and another to say something else, or for statements made in the public domain without prior discussion on the party platform,” Raju told reporters.
The party has noted that ministers were expressing different opinions on public issues, another leader said.
“The ministers will hold a meeting every 15 days to discuss strategies to amplify the party line and narratives. They will work with a unified voice,” Raju said.
To strengthen the organisation in the state, he said two committees will be constituted for the party’s campaign in each division.
One panel will support campaign committee members, while another will be the divisional campaign panel, comprising district presidents and ministers, he said, adding that MLAs will be invitees to the committees.
“We will formulate a plan to conduct a six-month campaign focused on public issues in every division. This campaign will include bus tours, foot marches, public meetings, seminars, and workshops. We will engage with panchayat committees and the general public at the grassroots level to connect with the people over one or two key public issues and take a firm stand on them,” Raju said.
