Ranchi, Apr 27 (PTI) An Air Force personnel was killed after a bus rammed into his motorcycle in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag district, police said on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Deepak Kumar (34), a resident of Mukundganj, they said.

“The accident happened near a hotel at Mukundganj Chowk. He died on the spot,” said a police officer.

According to Deepak’s elder brother, Anand Kumar, he was posted in Hyderabad and had come home on leave on April 13. He had joined the service in 2012-13 and was on his way to attend a wedding when the accident took place.

In another road accident in the district, two members of a family were killed and two others grievously injured after their car crashed into a truck from behind at Demotand.

The deceased were identified as Chandan Kumar (40) and his mother Vidya Devi (62), both residents of the BIT Mesra area in Ranchi.

“There were four occupants in the car. Two of them, including a woman, died on the spot, while the other two sustained serious injuries,” an officer said.

The injured were first taken to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital and later referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, he said.

Police said the accident occurred after the driver allegedly lost control of the speeding vehicle. The family was returning to Ranchi after attending a wedding in Patna. PTI RPS RPS SOM
