Mumbai/Pune, Sep 16 (PTI) BJP president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday visited famous Ganesh pandals in Mumbai and Pune, saying the “cultural revival” has reached every section and community under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
He offered prayers at Siddhivinayak temple, Lalbaugcha Raja and the Bandra West Ganpati pandals in Mumbai on the third day of the Ganesh festival. He also visited the famous Shrimant Dagaduseth Ganapati and Kasba Ganesh in Pune, accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Nabin and Fadnavis also visited the Ganapati mandal of Pune MP and Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol in the Kothrud area.
Hailing the tradition of celebrating the Ganesh festival, Nabin said he was fortunate to get the opportunity to offer prayers to Lord Ganapati in Maharashtra after assuming the post of the BJP’s national president.
In Pune, Nabin and Fadnavis said they prayed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s longevity and success on the eve of his birthday because “aspirations of 135 crore people are attached to him”.
During his visit to famous Ganpati pandals in Mumbai earlier in the day, Nabin praised Maharashtra’s contribution to the country’s progress, saying the western state was advancing alongside the rest of India under Modi’s leadership.
“The chief minister used the right term — this is a time of cultural revival. Over the last 12 years, under the leadership of PM Modi, this has reached every section and every community of the country,” Nabin said while addressing BJP workers.
Calling Maharashtra the “holy land” of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Nabin highlighted Maharashtra’s longstanding contribution to India’s development and its continued leadership.
“Maharashtra has always contributed to India’s development and continues to make a leading contribution today,” he added.
He invoked the ideals of Lord Ram, saying that Indian culture and the country’s development should progress simultaneously.
“Let us all move forward by matching the pace of Indian culture with the pace of India’s development,” he said.
Nabin also highlighted Modi’s slogan, “Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, sabka prayas”, saying 140 crore people are collectively working towards a developed India.
Fadnavis, who accompanied the BJP chief, said Nabin represents the new generation and new leadership in the BJP.
“He is a symbol of the new energy and new blood brought into our organisation. Under Modiji’s leadership. There has been a cultural revival and all our festivals are now celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur,” he said.
Fadnavis added that Indian cultural traditions are being celebrated with greater enthusiasm under Modi’s leadership.
Speaking to reporters earlier in the day, Nabin said he was fortunate to visit Maharashtra on the occasion of the Ganesh festival, as it was his first visit to the state after becoming the BJP president.
“I am overwhelmed and pray for the welfare of Maharashtra and the country,” he said.
