Mandla: Union Home minister Amit Shah inaugurated the third Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Mandla and Sheopur on Tuesday, 5 September. He also addressed rallies in both the places.
In his inaugural speech, Shah lauded the Madhya Pradesh government and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his developmental work in the state. He said the BJP government in the state, especially one headed by Chouhan, took the state to new heights and ensured prosperity for the youth, women and tribals.
Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to have implemented the PESA act amongst the tribal population in the state. The Act has been implemented in 89 tribal-dominated development blocks throughout 20 districts in the state and is set to empower tribal people via economic and social upliftment.
Shah took a dig at the former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, calling him “Bantadhar Singh” and accused him and Congress of deep-rooted corruption. He also called former Chief Minister and MLA Kamal Nath as “Corruption Nath”, saying during his reign 51 welfare schemes were stopped by corruption. Shah also named multiple scams of crores of rupees like Moser Baer scama and AgustaWestland scam, that took place during Nath’s tenure as the state’s CM.
Showing confidence over BJP’s win in the upcoming elections, the Union minister said BJP will win with more than150 seats.
CM Chouhan also showed confidence in Shah’s words and said, “I had made 14 announcements for the tribals, completed all of them.”
Chouhan said a medical college will soon open in the Mandla district and will be named after tribal activist Raja Hriday Shah.

Giving an account of all the good work of BJP, Chouhan lauded the Modi government for abrogation of Article 370, providing gas cylinders at subsidised rate of Rs. 450 to women under Ujjwala scheme, compensation to farmers, etc.

He added that 80 lakh farmers in the state will get 12 thousand each in their account, six thousand from the centre and six from the Madhya Pradesh government.
