Shimla, Apr 27 (PTI) The Shimla Met office has issued an orange alert for hailstorm, thunderstorm and gusty winds at isolated places of Himachal Pradesh for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Met Office has also predicted a wet spell till May 3, officials said on Monday.

An orange alert of hailstorm, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph) at isolated places has been issued for Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla on Tuesday and Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla on Wednesday.

Dry weather prevailed in the state in the past 24 hours since Sunday evening, and a heat wave was observed in Una and Bhuntar, which recorded high temperatures, it said.

Kulumseri was the coldest at night, recording a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day with a high of 42 degrees Celsius. PTI BPL APL APL
