Anand (Gujarat), Aug 14 (PTI) Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Friday participated in a ‘tiranga yatra’ in Anand city ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.

Sanghavi, along with local BJP leaders, office-bearers and students, marched from Vidhyanagar Shastri Maidan to the Town Hall in the city.

“I participated in the grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organised at Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand, as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign held to mark the occasion of the 80th Independence Day celebrations. I feel truly blessed to have witnessed this proud moment of patriotism by participating in the Tiranga Yatra, a procession that honours the tricolour and highlights the unity and integrity of the nation,” Sanghavi wrote on X.

A 2-km-long Tiranga Yatra was organised in Surat on Thursday evening in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil and Sanghavi.

Fire personnel participated in the march carrying a 600-metre-long national flag, which added to the procession’s grandeur, a release stated.

Along the route, cultural groups from various states, students and youngsters dressed in traditional attire presented colourful patriotic performances and enthusiastically welcomed the participants. PTI KVM ARU

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
