Bengaluru, Sep 21 (PTI) Four persons were injured after a group of men on two-wheelers attacked them with machetes here, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred at 9 pm on Sunday at two locations near Arehalli Gate on Uttarahalli Main Road in Subramanyapura police station limits, they said. The attackers had their faces covered.
Police said the six men, with four of them wearing helmets and the other two wearing masks, on three motorcycles, allegedly attacked people on the roadside without any apparent provocation.
This led to panic among residents and locals in the area.
According to police, the assailants first attacked a man identified as Kiran and his friend standing by the roadside and minutes later moved towards a fish shop, where they allegedly attacked two others.
Four men were injured in the attack. Three of them have been discharged from the hospital after treatment, while one person is still under treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) S K Soumyalatha said special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
“Around 9 pm, miscreants arrived on motorcycles and attacked Kiran N and his friend near Maramma Circle without any apparent motive. Subsequently, the same group moved near the Arehalli arch, close to a fish stall, and assaulted two persons, Raju and Ravi,” she said.
Four suspects have already been identified and three special teams have been constituted under the Subramanyapura police limits to apprehend them, the DCP said.
