Jaipur, Aug 2 (PTI) A father-son duo was killed and four others were injured after a truck rammed their vehicle on the Beawar-Ajmer National Highway in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district on Sunday, police said.
According to police, all six occupants of the vehicle were residents of the Ajaysar area in Ajmer and were returning home after attending a function.
Sadar police station SHO Gajraj said Babu, 40, his son Imran, 20, along with Hameed, Jamila, Sakina and Lakhina had travelled to Dholadata, about 80 km away, for the event.
“While returning, their vehicle was hit by the truck,” he said.
Local residents launched a rescue effort and pulled the occupants out of the mangled vehicle before they were shifted to a hospital.
Doctors declared Babu and Imran dead on arrival, while the four injured are undergoing treatment, police said.
The SHO said traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time following the accident. PTI AG RHL
