Nanded, Sept 19 (PTI) The Nanded district administration has flagged the circulation of a fake list of “drought-hit” villages on social media and asked farmers and the public not to believe in unverified information or rumours about the prevailing situation.
Officials said an assessment of the ground situation, including crop conditions and rainfall patterns across the district, is underway.
“An official decision on drought-related measures will be taken at the government level. The list of affected villages, along with the relevant orders, will be released through official channels once a decision is taken,” according to an official release issued on Saturday.
In a similar incident, a fake list of “drought measures” in Latur district has been circulating on social media, prompting district collector Bharat Bastewad to clarify that the document is fake.
He said whenever the government or administration announces any drought-related measure or relief initiative, the information is officially communicated through official letters, circulars or other authorised channels. PTI COR NSK
