Change is the law of nature, but the pace of change in today’s era is very high, and in such a situation, it is very important for us to continuously adopt new skills, President Droupadi Murmu said Monday in her address at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the students, she said no one knew at the beginning of this century what skills they would need in the next 20 or 25 years, and many current skills will become useless in the future, so it is important to keep learning and developing flexible minds.

The President also said education should be such that it makes students self-reliant and builds their character and personality. It is also important to bring awareness among students about culture, tradition, and civilisation.

Teachers have a great responsibility in this regard, she said, adding that teachers are not just responsible for teaching but also for building the future of the nation.

President Murmu said that the focus should be on “what to learn” and “how to learn”. She advised students to learn independently without any stress, which would help them explore their creativity and innovation.

She also urged students to make values like compassion, conscientiousness, and sensitivity their ideals, saying that living a life based on such values could help them achieve success.
