Gurugram, Apr 27 (PTI) An elderly couple was killed after a speeding car hit them while waiting for their son on the roadside here, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday around 8.30 pm near the Sidhrawali bus stand.

The elderly couple were standing on the roadside waiting for their son. A speeding car hit them and threw them several feet away. They died on the spot, police said.

A complaint was filed by Sanjay Nehra. He said his parents — Mansingh (62), and Shakuntala Devi (61) — were waiting for him as he had gone to park his scooter.

“Meanwhile, a light blue Nexon car, coming at high speed from the Gurugram side, suddenly lost control and hit them. I rushed my parents to a hospital in Bhiwadi in critical condition, where doctors declared them dead”, Nehra said in his complaint.

An FIR has been registered, and further investigation is underway, a senior police officer said. PTI COR HIG HIG
