Mumbai, Oct 1 (PTI) Eight students on a picnic drowned at a beach in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on Thursday, police said, adding all the bodies have been recovered.

The students were part of a group of 42 students, all from a private coaching class at Alandi in Pune district. Some were from class 11 and other from class 12.

Police said the students drowned at Diveagar beach, around 170 km from Mumbai. Some students of the group had gone for a swim at the beach, and eight did not make it back to the shore, police said. PTI VT
