New Delhi, Oct 15 (PTI) Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has said that the police may detain him tonight or in the morning and claimed that he is being watched by police and slueths at home.

The NDMC earlier in the day announced that Central Park at Connaught Place will be shut on October 16 and October 17.

“How many places will you shut?” Dipke asked authorities.

The CJP has called on the general public and its supporters to gather at CP’s Central Park on Friday to wave the national flag as part of its protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over irregularities in the special intensive revision of electoral rolls.

Dipke alleged that vehicles without number plates were following him and Intelligence Bureau personnel took updates from the watchman outside his house.

“Delhi Police can detain me tonight or tomorrow morning, but I want to tell Narendra Modi that we are not going to be scared by this,” he said.

“We are just saying remove Gyanesh Kumar and appoint someone else. We are not saying we want to change the regime,” he said.

“We are just saying that remove Gyanesh Kumar, who is not even listening to his ECs, and appoint a new election commissioner in an independent, unbiased manner. Is this a crime?” Dipke said. PTI AO VN

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
