Moradabad (UP), Oct 27 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Misra ‘Mona’ on Tuesday asserted that the Congress is emerging as a major alternative in Uttar Pradesh and is set to oust the BJP government.
Addressing a meeting of party workers in Moradabad, Misra said the enthusiasm among the Congress members is a clear sign of swing in its prospects.
“The party is emerging as a major alternative in Uttar Pradesh — one that is poised to uproot and oust the BJP government. From the struggle for Independence to the fight against the current dictatorial government, the Congress party has always been at the forefront,” she said.
“The BJP government, which rose to power in the name of Lord Ram, has committed a disgraceful act — akin to theft — by misappropriation of donations collected in His very name,” the state party chief added.
On alleged vote theft, Misra said that the entire nation is witnessing how democracy is being murdered.
She urged party members to ensure a massive turnout from Uttar Pradesh for the ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ rally of the INDIA bloc on November 1 in Delhi.
Later, speaking to reporters, Misra said, “The party intends to approach the 2027 elections with even greater energy and commitment than the effort its workers demonstrated during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.”
Misra emphasised that the Congress’s objective is not merely to contest elections, but to increase its engagement with the public.
During the interaction, Mishra also raised concerns regarding the remarks allegedly made by BJP leaders about Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi.
She said that despite political differences, one must maintain decorum in public discourse and show respect for women. PTI COR NAV VN
