Wardha, Sep 19 (PTI) Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday sought immediate relief for farmers affected by the drought-like conditions in several parts of Maharashtra.
During a visit to Sevagram Ashram in Wardha, he also attacked the Election Commission of India for its decision on the split in the Trinamool Congress.
“The state government should pay attention to the issues faced by farmers. The situation in Vidarbha is getting worse. If the government does not take immediate action, then this crises will worsen in the coming month or two,” he told reporters when asked about the drought-like situation.
The government should take immediate steps so that the farmers don’t take any wrong step and the crises does not blow up, he added.
Asked about ECI freezing the Trinamool Congress’ name and symbol during the West Bengal bypolls and the arrest of Congress candidate Milan Pradhan ahead of voting there on October 6, Dipke launched an attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Kumar should join the BJP openly rather than working for it from behind, Dipke said.
He should also get some credit for helping BJP win and helping the ruling party split other outfits, the CJP founder added.
How long will Amit Shah and Narendra Modi take credit (for BJP’s poll wins) as he (Kumar) is the one who should be getting credit, Dipke said.
