Imphal, Sep 8 (PTI) A man from Assam was allegedly killed with a machete by two of his associates after a dispute over contraband dealings in Manipur’s Imphal, police said on Tuesday.
The two accused have been arrested, a police officer said.
“An individual from Borojalenga Village in Assam’s Silchar was murdered by slashing his neck with a machete on Monday night at Thangal Bazar,” he said.
During the course of investigation, one of the accused admitted to the crime with the motive of revenge, following a fallout with the victim over dealings involving ganja, the officer said.
Further investigation is underway, and efforts are ongoing to recover the machete used in the murder, police said. PTI CORR RBT
