New Delhi: The Army Medical Corps (AMC) on April 3 celebrated its 260th Raising Day. A video commemorating the achievements of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AMC) was also screened during the event. Over 700 veterans of AFMS, as well as civil and service dignitaries, attended the event in New Delhi, a PIB press release stated.

The AMC was established in 1764. The Corps has rendered selfless service to the country for centuries of progress, development, and sacrifice, both in combat and in peace. The Corps’ motto is ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya’ meaning ‘let all be free from disease’. Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari attended the event.

The AMC Raising Day acknowledges the contributions of thousands of Officers, JCOs, and other ranks of the Army Medical Corps who have made a positive impact on the lives of personnel, families, and veterans of the Armed Forces. The AMC has set a benchmark in professionalism, courage, and compassion beyond the call of duty in its efforts to enhance optimal combat medical care and superlative state-of-the-art peace-time medical care.
