Amaravati, Oct 1 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh recorded commercial tax collections of Rs 4,986 crore in September 2026, an increase of Rs 651.34 crore, or 15 per cent, over the corresponding month last year, an official said on Thursday.

The state recorded total commercial tax collections of Rs 30,436 crore up to September 2026, compared with Rs 25,893 crore during the corresponding period last year, registering an 18 per cent increase, Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu A said.

“In September 2026, total CT (commercial tax) collections stood at Rs 4,986 crore, up 15 per cent (Rs 651.34 crore higher than in September 2025), marking a strong close to the first half of FY 2026-27,” Babu said in a press release.

Cumulatively, net GST collections rose to Rs 19,635 crore up to September 2026 from Rs 16,760 crore during the corresponding period last year, registering an 18 per cent growth, he said.

According to Babu, the growth in tax collections came against the backdrop of GST 2.0 rate rationalisation reforms, which seek to simplify the tax structure and reduce compliance costs for businesses. PTI STH SSK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
