Mathura (UP), Jun 7 (PTI) Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Arun Bhansali, on Sunday offered prayers at the famed Thakur Dwarkadhish Ji Maharaj Temple here.

Justice Bhansali, accompanied by his wife, Registrar General Manjeet Singh Sirohi, and the district judges of Mathura and Agra, sought blessings from the deity during the visit, temple officials said.

Rakesh Tiwari, the Sri Dwarkadhish Temple’s media and legal in-charge, said that Bhansali was welcomed with the chanting of traditional mantras and was briefed on the temple’s history and customs.

The temple authorities presented him with a traditional scarf, prasad, and a memento, Tiwari said.

During his visit, Bhansali also met with Goswami Tritiya Peethadheeshwar Vagheesh Kumar Ji Maharaj, the temple’s spiritual head.

As part of his tour of the Braj region, the chief justice is also scheduled to visit the Shani Temple at Kokilavan in Kosi, the ISKCON Temple in Vrindavan, Neem Karoli Baba Samadhi Sthal, Tatiya Ashram and the Bankey Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, temple officials said.
