Bhopal, Aug 12 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has alleged that the Opposition’s policies, especially those of the Congress, are misleading the people and their actions appear to be driven by an “urban naxal” mentality, which hinders development.
Addressing a function to launch the “Naxal Mukt Bharat” book written by BJP national spokesman Tuhin A. Sinha and Dr Alok Kumar Dwivedi, on Tuesday, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh has achieved the target of eliminating Naxalism within the stipulated timeframe under PM Modi’s leadership.
“Policies of the Opposition, especially the Congress, are misleading the people and their actions appear to be driven by urban Naxal mentality, which hinders development,” Yadav said.
He said before the BJP came to power, areas like Balaghat and Dindori were affected by severe Naxalism; people used to be dragged out of their homes and killed in front of their families.
On the occasion, a panel discussion was organised on “India’s Long Battle Against Left-Wing Extremism: Leadership, Governance, and Nation Building”, where key issues of governance, resilience, social change, and nation-building were discussed from diverse perspectives.
The book launch and panel discussion were organised by real estate major RDB Group and Primark Group as part of a social initiative. Siddharth Pansari, Director of Primark Group and former president of CREDAI Bengal, said this marked the first chapter of its commitment to fostering meaningful public engagement in Bhopal.
