Mangaluru (Karnataka), Oct 15 (PTI) Members of the pro-RSS student organisation, ABVP, staged a protest here on Thursday, demanding disciplinary action against an Assistant Commissioner of Police rank officer over the alleged slapping of an ABVP leader.
The protest follows an incident reportedly involving the police during a recent demonstration at St Agnes College in Mangaluru.
According to the allegations raised by the ABVP, the police officer allegedly slapped one of the organisation’s leaders during the protest, triggering strong opposition from student activists.
Raising slogans against the police, the protesters demanded that the authorities take appropriate action against the officer concerned.
Police, however, said they are investigating the veracity of the claims. PTI COR AMP ADB
