Jaipur, Oct 23 (PTI) Police have arrested four more people, including the alleged mastermind, in connection with a counterfeit currency racket in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district, officials said on Friday.

With the latest arrests, the number of people apprehended in the case has risen to six, they said.

The accused were identified as Ravi alias Ashish Mishra, 25, a resident of Pratapgarh, Mohammad Arif of Kanpur, both in Uttar Pradesh, Anand alias Pushkar, 20, from Ambala in Haryana, and Tarun, 27, from Durg in Chhattisgarh.

The arrests were made by the district police’s cyber cell and special team following raids in different states under ‘Operation Noteflix’, launched by Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar.

Police had earlier arrested Bhavesh Khatik, 23, and Nayan Joshi, 19, both residents of Dungarpur, on September 30 and seized counterfeit currency notes worth Rs 4.95 lakh, a printer and other material.

According to police, the accused got the idea of printing counterfeit currency after watching a web series. PTI SDA AG RHL

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
