The two-year-old picture, along with a tweet, was sent from the verified account of ‘Office of Kamal Nath’ Sunday.

The tweet, originally written in Hindi, alleged widespread corruption in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan (referred to as mamaji) government. It said that bad roads are synonymous with the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.

Referring to the poor quality of road construction as shown in the image, the tweet said sarcastically that these “foldable roads” are better than “silky roads of Washington”.

The image tweeted from the Office of Kamal Nath has received more than 430 retweets and more than 1,300 likes so far.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Monday debunked the lie saying Congress leaders are habitual offenders.

“What to say about our friends from the Congress. First, Digvijay Singh brings Pakistan’s bridge to Bhopal and now Kamal Nath has brought Bangladeshi roads to MP,” Chouhan tweeted.

In June 2016, a Bangladeshi news portal called, Probashi Diganta News, had shared the same image alleging corruption in road construction work.

In July 2016, former CSDS professor Madhu Kishwar had used the same image to highlight poor condition of roads in Bihar. She had to delete the tweet later after the image turned out to be from Bangladesh.
