New Delhi: One photographic frame that has managed to catch a train, a bus, a boat and an airplane – all in motion — is making its rounds online.

It was first shared by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, who appears to marvel at the fact that all four modes of transport had been captured in one setting. That too, in BJP-ruled Varanasi, posted Saurabh Maroda, the social media co-convener of the Uttar Pradesh BJP.

Wrong. It is actually a photo of the Godavari Bridge in Andhra Pradesh’s Rajahmundry.

And the airplane in the sky has been photoshopped in.

Till the time of publishing this report, the image had 421 retweets, 15 quote tweets and 2,861 likes. However, many Twitter users also called out the politician for sharing the fake photograph.

Fact check:

Journalist Anuj Tiwari, among many others, debunked Maroda’s claim and pointed out that the image was shared on a Facebook page on 16 November 2021 called “Our Rajamahendravaram”, referring to the city of Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.

Another railway enthusiast, who goes by the Instagram handle, @aurobindo_sf, shared a thread showing the original image and the fake one. It revealed that the original photo did not have the plane.
